Happy Halloween!

Halloween weekend has officially arrived.

This week we wrapped up lessons on weathering, multiplying by basic numbers, the countries of South America, and suffixes and prefixes. Now, we are moving on to learn about possessive nouns, soil and fossils, different types of government, and a lot more. Keep practicing multiplication at home as we transition into more difficult numbers.
On Friday, we had a wonderful class Halloween party- I took all the students outside for study hall time and when we came back in, the room was fully set-up for our class party! The students absolutely loved the fake teeth, punch, and endless sweet treats! Thank you so much to everyone who helped or contributed in some way. I hope you all have a wonderful Halloween weekend and I cannot wait to hear all about it from each student Monday morning. Please let me know if you have any questions!

Happy Friday!

What a wonderful week it has been!

Today we finally got to meet up with our book buddies and it was adorable- our kids were such great leaders to those sweet Kindergarteners. We wrapped up our geography unit on North America and will now transition into South America and Europe. We did our math review today on the intro to multiplication chapter and they will have a test on Tuesday. This past week, our Reading and Social Studies were all about the government and elections. Now, we are diving right into learning all about the Earth. We will also really begin practicing more writing in cursive rather than the normal tracing, so be sure and have them show you their skills at home!
Remember to check RenWeb for grades and lesson plans as they are updated each week.

I hope everyone is able to make it to the last home football game tonight.....GO EAGLES!

Here are a few pictures from reading with their book buddies today. Have a great weekend!

Vocabulary Parade

Hello Parents!

This was a wonderful week and I am SO glad to be back with my sweet class! I was blown away with their behavior this week and how they jumped right back into school work after a long week off.

Today we had the vocabulary parade and I loved seeing all of their creativity come out in their chosen word and costumes. Also, thank you to all the parents who were able to make it to EH to watch it. It filled my heart with joy seeing them all run into the classroom this morning and share their word and costumes with their friends. It really was such a great day!

We are halfway through our chapter on introducing multiplication and they are all picking it up quickly! Next week, we will have a science test over chapter 4 which is how the environment can affect living things. We will also begin learning about the government, how Jesus began His ministry, and expository texts.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and enjoy this beautiful fall weather!

Fall Break!

I hope you all have had a wonderful fall break! I am SO excited to get back and see all 16 of my sweet kiddos this week. We will learn about the story of Jesus being tempted by Satan, identifying cities and places on maps, singular and plural nouns and even more exciting stuff. Before fall break, we finished our chapters in Science and math. Now, we will move on to learn about how the environment affects living things and ......... MULTIPLICATION! The class has been asking me for weeks when we are going to learn multiplication and the time is finally here! I believe the students will also be doing a fun little project in STEM lab which means they might get to go more than once. I hope everybody  feels well rested after a long fall break so we can jump right back into our normal routine.

Progress reports will be sent out this week so be on the lookout for those. As always, be sure and check RenWeb for updated grades and lesson plans for the week. Thank you!
